Dear Triathlete:

Only 26 days and counting. Are you ready? Final preparations are being made for the 5th Annual Tri Greenville Triathlon June 3rd. Our participation numbers are higher at this time than last year so we are anticipating another fantastic event! Despite the chilly night temperatures, the lake temperature is rising. We suspect the lake will be 70 degrees by race day. Be sure to like our the TriGreenville facebook page, we will be posting weekly lake temps starting this week.

There are a few things we would like to cover this week to make sure the day runs smoothly.

Elite Wave: At the time of registration, you were asked to indicate whether or not you would like to participate in the Elite Wave of the triathlon (adults only). The Elite Wave will be the first adult division wave starting at 8:00am followed by two more adult waves at 8:04am and 8:08am. If you haven't already signed up in the elite wave and would like to be added to it or if you registered in the elite wave and have since changed your mind, please email me at kberry@greenvillemi.org and I will make the change. Please understand, you will NOT be able to change your elite wave status on race day. NO EXCEPTIONS! If you are concerned whether or not you 'qualify' to start in the elite race, I encourage you to review last years race results to get an idea how you compare to your competitors.

Training Opportunity: If you are looking for a good bike training opportunity, I encourage you to join our friends at Spin The Spokes for Habitat on May 20th at 9:00am at the Greenville Middle School. Spin the Spokes for Habitat is a bike ride using the Fred Meijer Flat and Heartland Trails. There is a ride length suited for you whether it's an easy 8-mile leisurely ride, a 50-mile training ride for other events or something in between. Besides being a great, enjoyable ride, proceeds from the ride and fund-raising efforts benefit local families.

If you know of anyone who is interested in registering but hasn't done so yet, please let them know we are still guaranteeing race shirts for registrations received thru 5pm on May 14. Registrations will be accepted until race day however, a shirt and/or preferred shirt size will not be guaranteed.

Keep a watch on your email for more upcoming information about the TriGreenville Triathlon. Additional information will be coming to you weekly or you may visit our website at trigreenville.com for complete event day details and information.

Happy Tri-day,

Kris & Doug
